Build tips
Spend 35-40% of your budget on the GPU
The GPU is the single biggest FPS lever. A $300 CPU with a $600 GPU will always outperform a $600 CPU with a $300 GPU in gaming. Every build above follows this rule.
AM5 is the platform to buy in 2026
AMD has confirmed AM5 support through at least 2027+. You can start with a budget Ryzen 5 and drop in a future X3D chip when prices fall. Intel’s LGA 1851 is newer but has no upgrade path guarantee.
Don’t overspend on the PSU — but don’t cheap out
80+ Gold, ATX 3.1 for the 12V-2×6 connector, and 100W above your GPU’s TDP. That’s the formula. Overspending on Titanium efficiency wastes money; underspending risks instability under load.
DDR5-6000 CL30 is the sweet spot for AM5
AMD’s Infinity Fabric runs 1:1 with memory clock at 6000 MHz. Going higher forces a less efficient ratio. Don’t pay extra for 7200+ kits unless you plan to manually overclock the FCLK.
