Common questions
What's the difference between Game Pass and Patch Watch?+
Game Pass is a one-time $14.99 purchase for a single game. You own the playbook for that game forever and can regenerate it every time you change hardware. Patch Watch is the subscription — every supported game is unlocked, AND your playbooks auto-regenerate the moment a patch or driver update changes the meta (with an email summary of what changed). Buy Game Pass if your rig is stable and you only play 1–2 titles. Subscribe if you play multiple games or chase patch FPS gains.
What does Patch Watch actually add over Game Pass + free?+
Three things: (1) Auto-regen — when COD ships a season, when an NVIDIA driver lands, or when Apex changes a setting menu, your playbooks update automatically and we email you the diff. (2) Pro extras — GPU overclock + undervolt, memory-timing recommendations (XMP/EXPO + subtimings), Windows registry tweaks, per-game .cfg overrides. (3) Every game, no per-title cost.
Why does my FPS drop again a few weeks after I optimize?+
Game patches change settings menus, drivers add new options, and Windows updates reset things. Game Pass owners get a static playbook. Patch Watch users get an email when something material changed — and the regenerated playbook is one click away.
How do I know the playbook actually worked?+
Patch Watch adds outcome tracking — log your before/after FPS and we show you the real lift. We also publish anonymized aggregate gains per hardware tier so you can sanity-check our recommendations against other rigs like yours.
Will any of this break my system?+
The free playbook and Game Pass only suggest in-game and Settings-app changes you apply yourself. Patch Watch extends to overclock, registry, and config files — these carry risk if mis-applied. We stick to documented safe ranges per GPU model and include verification + revert instructions for everything. Read the rationale before you change anything.
What happens to my Game Pass purchases if I cancel Patch Watch?+
Nothing. Game Pass is permanent — your purchased games stay yours forever, with unlimited regenerations as you change hardware. Canceling Patch Watch only stops the auto-regen + Pro extras + access to games you don't own a Pass for.
Can I get a refund?+
Yes — within 14 days of any charge, no questions asked. Email hello@betterfps.com.
Why $149 for Patch Watch Lifetime, and what happens after the first 500?+
Lifetime is a launch promo to fund the build. After 500 sign-ups it's removed and only monthly/annual remain. Lifetime members get every Patch Watch feature we ship, forever, with locked-in pricing.
