007 First Light gets path tracing and DLSS 4.5 on September 15
Path tracing mode arrives with DLSS 4.5 for RTX 50-series owners

IO Interactive announced a September 15 graphics update for 007 First Light that brings path tracing and DLSS 4.5 support to the PC version, according to TweakTown. Path tracing is the full-scene ray tracing method that handles all lighting, reflections, and shadows in one pass — the same tech that made Cyberpunk 2077's Overdrive mode a GPU stress test.
DLSS 4.5 is NVIDIA's latest upscaler revision, designed for RTX 50-series cards with multi-frame generation. If you're running a 5080 or 5090, this update should let you crank path tracing without tanking below 60 FPS at 1440p or 4K. Older RTX 40-series owners get DLSS 3 frame generation instead, which helps but won't match the newer hardware's headroom.
Path tracing modes are still the hardest test for modern GPUs. Even a 5090 with 32GB GDDR7 can dip into the 40s at native 4K with all the bells on. If you're planning to use this mode, budget for DLSS Quality or Balanced — Performance mode tends to introduce too much shimmer on fine details like hair and wiring.
