AMD's 26.6.2 driver breaks on Windows 10, hotfix out now

AMD released Adrenalin Edition 26.6.2 WHQL on Monday with day-one support for Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced and DOOM: The Dark Ages | Revelations. The driver also brings FSR 4.1 upscaling to RDNA 3 cards (RX 7000-series). According to TechPowerUp, Windows 10 users immediately hit install failures and crashes.

The issue affects RX 7000 and RX 9000 owners still running Windows 10, which hit end-of-life in October 2025. AMD pushed a hotfix driver within 24 hours. If you're on Win10 Extended Security Updates or just refusing to upgrade, grab the patch from AMD's site.

This is the second AMD driver in three months that stumbled on legacy Windows versions. Microsoft stopped patching Win10's kernel six months ago. You can limp along with hotfixes, but driver stability on EOL platforms will keep degrading. FSR 4.1 is ML-based and DOOM runs brutal at 4K—both need clean drivers.
