AMD driver update breaks Zero RPM, lets cards run hot at idle

AMD GPU owners are reporting a fan control bug in a recent driver update. According to posts on Reddit, the Zero RPM feature — which keeps fans off during light loads — is sticking even when temperatures climb past safe idle levels.

The bug appears to affect multiple RDNA 2 and RDNA 3 cards. Users report idle temps hitting 60–70°C with fans stuck at 0 RPM until they manually override in Adrenalin or a third-party tool. No word yet on which driver version introduced the issue, but posts started clustering in the past 48 hours.

This is bad if you run a heavy background workload or have poor case airflow. Your card cooks itself at "idle" until you notice. Rolling back to the previous stable driver is the safe play until AMD patches it.
