AMD raising Radeon GPU kit prices 10% in July

AMD told its add-in board partners to expect a 10% price increase on GPU kits in July, per a report from Chinese Board Channels. The kits bundle a GPU die with GDDR6 memory and go to AIB partners who build custom Radeon cards with their own PCBs.

AMD sources GDDR6 from SK hynix, Samsung, or Micron, then packages it with the GPU for AIBs. That saves partners from negotiating memory deals themselves. The July hike will push those costs up by 10%.

This hits custom RX 9000 cards (RDNA 4) hardest. The timing is rough: the RX 9070 XT launched at a competitive $549, but that margin evaporates if AIBs eat a 10% kit increase or pass it to buyers. A $550 card becomes $605. That pushes it closer to NVIDIA's RTX 5070 territory.

If you were eyeing a Radeon card, July is the cutoff. Prices stay flat until then. After that, expect $30–60 bumps on mid-range and high-end SKUs unless AIBs absorb the hit (they won't). Check BetterFPS for updated buying guides once street prices settle.
