AMD's RDNA 5 GPUs pushed to late 2027, AIB partners confirm at Computex
AMD's next-gen cards delayed to H2 2027, extending RDNA 4's shelf life

AMD's RDNA 5 gaming GPUs are slipping to late 2027, according to multiple AIB partners speaking at Computex this week. Tom's Hardware reports the second-half timeline, which puts AMD's next cards roughly two years after RDNA 4 launched.
That's a longer gap than usual. RDNA 3 arrived 18 months after RDNA 2. The delay suggests AMD is either retooling the architecture or struggling with process node availability at TSMC.
Nvidia's next generation is expected in the same window, which means AMD won't have a timing advantage. If you're sitting on a 7900 XTX or 7800 XT, you're looking at another year-plus before an upgrade path appears. Mid-2027 also means current-gen cards will stick around longer, which could mean better used prices if you're hunting deals.
For now, RDNA 4 is still the newest AMD silicon. If your card is underperforming, run a fresh optimization playbook to squeeze out what you've got.
