AnyPS5 project aims to run PS5 games on PC without emulation
Translation layer could bypass emulation overhead for PS5 ports

An open-source project called AnyPS5 wants to run PlayStation 5 games on PC without emulating the console. According to its GitHub page, the tool relinks PS5 executables into native Windows or Linux binaries and reimplements Sony's system libraries for dynamic linking — closer to Wine/Proton than traditional emulation.
The PS5 runs on x86-64 Zen 2 hardware, architecturally similar to a mid-tier PC. AnyPS5 skips CPU emulation entirely and recompiles shaders into SPIR-V for Vulkan. The developer reports execution now reaches a game's main function, with exception handling in progress.
This is extremely early. No games boot fully yet. But if it gets off the ground, it could mean PS5 exclusives running on PC hardware without the overhead of full-system emulation — potentially higher framerates on equivalent or even weaker specs than the console's RDNA 2 GPU and Zen 2 CPU.
If you're already chasing FPS on cross-platform titles, run a fresh playbook to see where your rig stands before Sony's library opens up.
