Battlefield 6 season 4 adds Top Gun collab and Carrier Strike mode

Battlefield 6's fourth season dropped today with a Top Gun collaboration and a new naval combat mode called Carrier Strike. The update also includes Wake Island, which DICE calls the largest Battlefield map to date.

Carrier Strike puts jets and naval warfare front and center — the mode that older Battlefield players have been asking for since BF6 launched. The Top Gun tie-in adds themed cosmetics and vehicles, though Eurogamer's hands-on suggests it's more than a skin pack. If the mode pulls enough concurrent players over the next few weeks, DICE hinted it could become a permanent playlist.

This is the kind of large-scale, vehicle-heavy update that tends to spike GPU usage. Expect higher VRAM demand on Wake Island's dense asset streaming, especially at 1440p/4K. If you're on an 8GB card, texture pop-in is likely.

Run a fresh playbook to see if your rig still hits 60+ in 64-player lobbies with naval assets active.
