DLSS 5 mod for AMD cards jumps 74% faster in one day
Community mod makes DLSS 5 on AMD 74% faster in one day

A modder working on bringing NVIDIA's DLSS 5 Neural Rendering to AMD Radeon GPUs shipped two updates in one day — Alpha 0.3.3 and Alpha 0.4.0 — that together added roughly 74% more performance, according to the project's GitHub release notes. YouTuber Ancient Gameplays tested the update in Cyberpunk 2077 at 3440x1440 and saw framerates climb from around 30 FPS on earlier builds to roughly 50 FPS on Alpha 0.4.0.
That's a big jump for a workaround that started out barely playable. DLSS 5 Neural Rendering is NVIDIA's latest upscaling tech (Blackwell/RTX 50-series), and it doesn't officially run on AMD hardware. The mod reverse-engineers the pipeline to run on Radeon GPUs, which means it's inherently slower than native DLSS on GeForce cards — but 50 FPS at ultrawide 1440p is suddenly in playable territory for titles that support DLSS 5.
This is still alpha software. Expect visual artifacts, crashes, and compatibility issues. The mod also requires manual file swaps and doesn't work in every DLSS 5 game yet. But the pace of improvement is faster than most community projects — two releases in 24 hours is rare.
If you're running a Radeon RX 9000 or RX 7000 card and want to experiment, check the project's GitHub for installation steps. If you'd rather stick with native AMD upscaling, run a BetterFPS playbook to see if FSR 4 or FSR 3.1 gets you closer to your target framerate without the mod hassle.
