Dragon's Dogma 2 gets major performance patch, Capcom lowers PC requirements
Capcom finally fixed the CPU bottleneck that made Dragon's Dogma 2's towns unplayable on mid-range rigs

Capcom shipped a performance overhaul for Dragon's Dogma 2 that addresses the CPU hammering that plagued the game at launch, according to GamesRadar+. The patch is substantial enough that Capcom revised the Steam store page minimum requirements downward — a rare admission that the initial PC port needed work.
The update targets CPU overhead in towns and during large NPC clusters, scenarios that caused frame-time spikes even on high-end chips last year. Players report smoother frame pacing in cities like Vernworth, where crowds used to tank FPS into the 40s on CPUs that should've cleared 60+ easily. Capcom hasn't published exact numbers, but the revised spec sheet now lists a Core i5-10600 or Ryzen 5 3600 as minimum (down from what was effectively Ryzen 7 3700X territory at release).
This is what launch-window optimization should look like. Dragon's Dogma 2 had the art and mechanics to justify recommending it, but telling people to wait for patches because of poor CPU scaling felt inevitable. A year later, it's actually fixed.
If you grabbed DD2 on sale and shelved it because of stuttering, now's the time to check your settings and retest. Run it again — the game you paid for is finally in there.
