Fortnite's Spooky Month starts Oct. 1 with Five Nights at Freddy's
Epic's Halloween event starts Oct. 1 with the FNAF crossover fans have been asking for since 2019.

Fortnite's annual Halloween event, Fortnitemares, returns Oct. 1 with a Five Nights at Freddy's collaboration, according to Polygon. Epic hasn't detailed what the crossover includes, but past Fortnitemares events have brought map changes, limited-time modes, and themed cosmetics.
FNAF has been one of the most-requested crossovers in Fortnite's community for years. The franchise's animatronic horror aesthetic fits the Halloween window, and Epic's track record with horror IPs (The Walking Dead, Resident Evil) suggests we'll see skins for Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, and Foxy at minimum. Expect a tie-in Creative map or LTM that riffs on the original game's security-cam loop.
This is good news if you care about Fortnite's performance. Seasonal events like Fortnitemares typically ship with new optimization passes and driver support from NVIDIA and AMD. The last Fortnitemares (2025) brought a small FPS bump on mid-range cards thanks to better LOD streaming for map assets. If you're still fighting stutters in Ranked, Oct. 1 might be the patch that smooths things out.
