Fortnite's shotgun meta is stacked right now

Multiple viable shotguns beat a one-gun meta

Fortnite's shotgun meta is stacked right now

Epic just dropped another shotgun into Fortnite's loot pool, and the close-range game has never been this good. PC Gamer says this might be the best shotgun meta the game's ever had — multiple viable options instead of one dominant gun.

The new addition joins the pump, tactical, and lever-action models already in rotation. Each one handles differently enough that loadout choice actually matters. Pump still hits hardest if you can land the shot. Tac fires faster for aggressive pushes. Lever splits the difference.

This is good for the game. When one shotgun dominates, fights get stale. When you have real choices, engagements feel less scripted. You can outplay someone running the meta gun if you know your weapon's range and timing.

If you're tweaking Fortnite settings for close-quarters fights, run a fresh playbook — input lag and frame pacing matter more when you're trading shots at 5 meters.
