FSR 4 frame generation has frame pacing problems
Slow-motion tests reveal AMD's frame gen tech ships with timing issues

AMD's FSR 4 Frame Generation has a frame pacing problem, according to TweakTown's slow-motion camera analysis. The generated frames don't arrive at consistent intervals—some land too early, others too late—creating visible jitter even when the raw frame count looks good.
This is different from the usual frame gen artifacts (ghosting, visual glitches). Frame pacing is about when each frame hits the screen. Uneven timing makes gameplay feel stuttery or laggy even if your average FPS climbs from 60 to 90. The issue showed up across multiple games in their testing.
FSR 4 is AMD's first ML-based upscaler, exclusive to RDNA 4 cards (RX 9070 XT and below). It was supposed to compete with DLSS 4's multi-frame generation. Instead, it might be a feature you turn off until AMD patches it. Native 60fps with consistent framing beats janky 90fps.
