Gears of War: E-Day launches with DLSS 4.5 and RTX Mega Geometry
Coalition's prequel ships with NVIDIA's latest upscaling and a new RT geometry path

Gears of War: E-Day is available now for Premium Edition owners, with the standard release following October 6th. The prequel campaign drops players into Emergence Day alongside Marcus and Dom, fourteen years before the original game. Multiplayer includes a reimagined Horde Siege mode and standard Versus PvP.
On RTX hardware, the game ships with DLSS 4.5 — NVIDIA's newest upscaling version — alongside ray tracing and RTX Mega Geometry, a hardware-accelerated geometry pipeline that offloads mesh processing to dedicated RT cores. GeForce NOW streams the same feature set for cloud players.
DLSS 4.5 brings refinements to multi-frame generation (Blackwell-exclusive) and improved temporal stability across older RTX cards. RTX Mega Geometry is the bigger wildcard — it's designed to push polygon counts higher without tanking CPU threads, which matters in dense scenes like Locust swarms or environmental destruction. Whether it translates to a real frame bump over standard raster depends on how Coalition tuned the engine, and early reports aren't in yet.
If you're running an RTX 40 or 50-series card, this is one to benchmark out of the gate. DLSS 4 brought measurable gains in CPU-limited scenarios; 4.5 should stretch that further. Check your settings and compare to see if the new features are worth toggling on your rig.
