Gears of War: E-Day launches with DLSS 4.5 and Unreal Engine 5.8
The Coalition bakes in DLSS 4.5 and UE5.8's full suite — MegaLights, Lumen, Nanite — for E-Day's PC version.

Gears of War: E-Day will launch with DLSS 4.5 support on PC, according to The Coalition. The game uses Unreal Engine 5.8 and includes ray-traced global illumination via Lumen, hardware Nanite geometry, and the new MegaLights system for handling thousands of dynamic light sources.
DLSS 4.5 means RTX 50-series owners get multi-frame generation on top of the usual upscaling and frame generation. RTX 40-series cards are stuck with DLSS 3's single-frame gen. No word yet on FSR 4 or XeSS 2 support, though The Coalition has historically shipped AMD and Intel upscaling in past Gears titles.
This is a good flex for UE5.8's performance profile — MegaLights in particular has been a headache in early builds, tanking frame rates when you push light counts over a few hundred. If The Coalition nailed the optimization here, E-Day could be the first AAA to make heavy ray-tracing feel playable at high refresh on mid-tier hardware. If they didn't, expect another Remnant 2 situation where you're hunting for config tweaks day one.
E-Day doesn't have a firm release date yet. Check launch-ready settings as soon as it drops.
