Gears of War: E-Day and Modern Warfare 4 hit Xbox in October
Two day-one Game Pass shooters for Xbox owners this October

Xbox announced its October game slate, headlined by two big shooters: Gears of War: E-Day and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4. Both launch day-one on Xbox Game Pass, according to Polygon's October preview.
Gears of War: E-Day is the prequel story fans have been waiting for, set 14 years before the first Gears. Modern Warfare 4 continues the rebooted MW series after the success of MW2 (2022) and MW3 (2023). Three additional titles round out the month, though Polygon didn't name them in the summary.
For Xbox owners with Game Pass, this is a strong month if you're into shooters. You're getting two $70 games at no extra cost. The performance side is less clear until we see actual frame-rate targets and PC settings, but both games should be optimized for Series X/S out of the gate.
If you're planning to run either game on PC through Game Pass, check your settings and hardware targets before launch day. Gears has historically been a good PC port. Modern Warfare tends to eat VRAM at higher textures, so if you're on an 8GB card, plan accordingly.
