Gigabyte's 32-inch AORUS ELITE FO32U24G hits 1,500 nits with tandem WOLED
First tandem WOLED gaming monitor pushes OLED brightness into miniLED territory

Gigabyte announced the AORUS ELITE FO32U24G, a 32-inch 4K gaming monitor using tandem WOLED tech to hit 1,500 nits peak brightness in HDR. That's a big jump over typical OLED panels, which usually cap around 400-600 nits full-screen and 800-1,000 nits in small windows. Tandem WOLED stacks two emissive layers, letting the panel push higher brightness without cooking pixels as fast.
The monitor runs 4K at 240Hz or switches to 1080p at 480Hz. Gigabyte didn't say if the mode switch is instant or requires a manual toggle, but dual refresh modes let competitive shooters drop resolution for framerate headroom without swapping displays. No pricing or ship date yet — this was a spec sheet preview, not a launch.
This is the first tandem WOLED gaming monitor we've seen. The tech exists in laptops (Apple's iPad Pro uses it), but monitor manufacturers have stuck with single-layer WOLED or miniLED for desktop displays. If the price lands near current high-end OLED monitors ($800-1,200), it'll compete directly with miniLED 4K displays that already do 1,400+ nits but come with blooming and slower response times. If Gigabyte charges a premium for the stacked panel, most gamers will stick with cheaper single-layer OLEDs.
