Arrowhead announced on Steam that Helldivers 2 will add upscaling support on May 27. PC players get DLSS 4.5, FSR 4.0.3, and XeSS 3.0. Console players aren't left out — Xbox Series X|S and PS5 get FSR 3.1, while PS5 Pro adds PSSR 1 support.

This is the upscaling suite people have been asking for since launch. DLSS 4.5 brings the latest frame generation tweaks from Nvidia's 50-series cards. FSR 4.0.3 is AMD's newest non-proprietary option. XeSS 3.0 covers Intel Arc owners.

The patch also includes unspecified "performance optimizations," which could mean anything from shader compilation fixes to draw call improvements. We won't know until players benchmark it post-patch.

This matters if you're running mid-range hardware and want to push past 1080p without the slideshow. DLSS Quality at 1440p should net 30–40% better frames on RTX cards. FSR helps the AMD side and older Nvidia cards that don't do DLSS. XeSS is the wildcard — it works on most GPUs but performs best on Arc.

Check your settings after the patch drops. Run a fresh playbook to see if the new upscalers let you bump quality tiers without killing your framerate.
