Intel shows Arc G3 gaming handhelds at Computex with XeSS support

Intel showed the first Arc G3-powered gaming handhelds at Computex 2026, according to TechPowerUp. The G3 Extreme packs a 2P+8E+4LPE core config with Xe3 "Celestial" graphics—12 Xe cores total. It supports XeSS upscaling, XeLL frame gen, and XeFG.

These chips derive from Intel's Panther Lake architecture, using Coyote Cove performance cores and Darkmont efficiency cores. Intel hasn't shared clocks, TDP targets, or battery life estimates yet. No pricing or ship dates for partner devices.

This matters if you're eyeing a handheld upgrade. The Steam Deck and ROG Ally lean on AMD's Z1 series. Intel entering the space means more options, potentially better XeSS adoption in PC ports, and competitive pricing pressure. The 12 Xe cores sound strong on paper—we'll need benchmarks to see if they match the 780M in actual frame delivery.

Check your current handheld settings to see how they stack up before you decide on a future buy.
