Micro Center quietly drops RTX 5090 listings as 'not carried'

Micro Center appears to have pulled the RTX 5090 from its active catalog. A Reddit post on r/gpu claims every RTX 5090 listing on the retailer's US website now carries a "Not Carried" label—Micro Center's internal code for a product that won't be restocked. Custom models from ASUS, MSI, and Gigabyte still appear in search results but show out of stock at physical stores. The only 5090 reportedly available at most locations is an ASUS ROG Astral packaged inside a $11,000 20th Anniversary bundle.

Neither NVIDIA nor Micro Center has said anything. The timing lines up with ongoing whispers that the 5090 might be EOL'd sooner than expected, though those remain unconfirmed rumors. If true, it would be an unusually short run for a flagship GPU—the 5090 launched in January 2025.

This matters if you were planning to grab a 5090 at Micro Center specifically. The "Not Carried" flag doesn't mean the card is dead everywhere, but it does mean one of the few US retailers that actually stocks high-end GPUs in physical stores has stopped ordering them. Online inventory at other retailers (Newegg, Best Buy, B&H) still shows scattered availability, though at inflated prices.

If you're shopping for a high-end card right now, check our GPU buying guide to see how the 5090 stacks up against the 5080 and AMD's RX 9070 XT at current street prices.
