Modern Warfare 4 announced: Korea campaign, no PS4, Switch 2 launch
First CoD to drop PS4 and launch on Switch 2 — what it means for your rig

Activision announced Modern Warfare 4 today, the next mainline Call of Duty. The campaign is set in Korea. It launches later this year on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo's upcoming Switch 2. PS4 is out.
This is the first CoD to skip Sony's last-gen console entirely. It's also the first to ship day-one on a Nintendo platform since the Wii U days. Switch 2 specs remain unconfirmed, but if MW4 runs at 60fps on the handheld, it's a big deal for portable FPS.
No word yet on Warzone integration or if the engine is still IW 9.0. Korea as a setting is new for Modern Warfare — previous games stuck to Middle East, Europe, and Verdansk. Could mean urban environments, DMZ-style gameplay, or something closer to the original MW2 spec-ops vibe.
If you're still on PS4, this is your sign to upgrade. The game will demand current-gen hardware, which means raytracing, DirectStorage, and higher CPU overhead. Check if your PC rig is ready — run a free performance test to see where you stand before preorders open.
