The mod let 40-series owners run the Blackwell-exclusive frame gen tech — two interpolated frames per real frame instead of one — on cards that shipped with DLSS 3. NVIDIA's update broke that. The core issue: DLSS 4's multi-frame gen uses tensor operations the 40-series can technically handle, but NVIDIA locked it to 50-series through driver checks. The community mod bypassed those checks.
