Nvidia RTX Spark laptops hit retail, starting at $2,599
New ultra-thin gaming tier ships with RTX 5060 mobile, but 16GB RAM and 8GB VRAM keep the entry models tight

Nvidia's RTX Spark laptops — the new ultra-thin gaming tier announced at CES — are shipping now. Microsoft's Surface Laptop Ultra leads the lineup at $2,599, packing an RTX 5060 mobile GPU (8GB GDDR7) in a 14-inch chassis under 4 pounds, according to Tom's Hardware. Other OEMs (Asus, Razer, MSI) are also live with RTX Spark models, all targeting the sub-0.7-inch-thick form factor.
The RTX 5060 mobile is the entry card here — expect 1080p/high performance, not 1440p native. DLSS 4 will do the heavy lifting. Battery life is the real sell: Nvidia claims up to 12 hours of web browsing, though gaming will drain that fast. RAM configs start at 16GB (DDR5-6400), which is tight for modern AAA — 32GB models are available but push prices over $3,000.
This is a bet on portability over raw performance. The Surface Laptop Ultra weighs less than a MacBook Pro but runs a mobile GPU that'll handle Warzone at 1080p/medium with frame gen. If you need 1440p or better, you're still looking at thicker 15.6-inch models with RTX 5070/5080 mobile. The Spark tier is for the coffee-shop grinder, not the min-maxer.
If you're weighing a Spark laptop against a desktop, run a quick playbook to see what your current rig pulls — you might already be outpacing these mobile chips at home.
