RTX 5060 Ti 16GB now costs the same as the RTX 5070

NVIDIA's mid-range GPU pricing collapses into a $70 sandwich

RTX 5060 Ti 16GB now costs the same as the RTX 5070

NVIDIA's RTX 50-series mid-range pricing has gone sideways, according to PC Gamer. The RTX 5050, RTX 5060, and RTX 5060 Ti are now separated by only $70 total. Worse: the RTX 5060 Ti 16GB variant is now priced identically to the RTX 5070.

That leaves almost no daylight between cards that should have clear performance tiers. The 5060 Ti 16GB makes sense as a 1440p card with enough VRAM overhead for texture-heavy games. The 5070 is faster and has better ray-tracing. At the same price, the 5060 Ti 16GB is dead on arrival unless you specifically need the VRAM and can't afford the 5070's performance gap.

The $70 spread across three cards is also tight enough that most buyers will just skip to the top of the stack. If you're already spending $200-something on a 5050, another $35 gets you a 5060, and another $35 after that gets you a 5060 Ti. That's not a pricing ladder — it's a dare to spend more.

This probably won't hold. Street prices usually settle below MSRP after launch, and NVIDIA's partners have room to cut. But right now, the only card that makes sense in this range is the base RTX 5060 Ti (not the 16GB variant) or jumping straight to the 5070. Everything else is stuck in a pricing traffic jam.

If you're shopping 1080p or 1440p right now, check our GPU recommendations to see where AMD's Radeon RX 9070 XT lands when it ships — it's got 16GB standard and will likely slot between the 5060 Ti and 5070 at a better price.
