RTX 5070 prices jump 36% as Blackwell cards hit new highs on Newegg

NVIDIA's RTX 50-series GPUs are climbing fast. Tom's Hardware tracked Newegg listings and found the RTX 5070 sitting at a 36% markup over MSRP, the RTX 5060 at 27%, and some SKUs hitting 39% above launch price.

The RTX 5070 launched at $549. The current median Newegg price is $747. The RTX 5060 started at $299; it's now around $380. The worst spike hits factory-overclocked models and cards with beefier coolers, but even baseline AIB cards are up.

This isn't a supply crunch in the traditional sense — cards are in stock. It's sustained demand running into tariff costs, higher AIB margins, and no competitive pressure from AMD's RX 9000 launch, which landed with middling reviews and spotty availability. The result: if you want Blackwell, you're paying.

Worth waiting? Maybe. Price spikes this steep tend to ease after a few months, especially if Intel's Arc B700 cards land at MSRP and actually perform. Right now, the RTX 4070 Ti Super is a better deal at $750-ish, with 16GB of VRAM and nearly identical raster performance to the 5070. The 5070 has DLSS 4 multi-frame generation, which helps at 1440p and up — but you're paying $200 over MSRP for it.

If you're holding a 3070 or older and the frame drops are real, check your settings first. You might squeeze another 6 months out of current hardware while prices settle.
