The RTX 5090 is sold out across every major US retailer, according to Tom's Hardware. Newegg, Best Buy, Amazon, and B&H Photo all show out-of-stock listings. Third-party sellers are filling the gap — Amazon listings run $3,800 to $9,500, with eBay scalpers asking similar premiums.
NVIDIA launched the 5090 at $1,999 MSRP in January 2025. The card shipped with 32GB GDDR7 and multi-frame generation via DLSS 4, making it the fastest consumer GPU available. Demand has consistently outpaced supply since launch, and shortages have worsened through Q3 2026.
This is the expected outcome when you launch a halo product with limited production allocation and no purchase limits. Scalpers bought inventory in bulk. Regular buyers lost. NVIDIA could flood the channel or enforce one-per-customer rules, but neither has happened.
