Valve raises 1TB Steam Deck OLED price to $999
Top-tier handheld jumps 54% in price with no feature changes

Valve hiked the price of its 1TB Steam Deck OLED to $999, according to GamesRadar+. That's $350 more than the $649 it launched at in November 2023. The 512GB model stays at $549.
No official statement yet on why. Tariffs, component costs, or just testing what the market will bear. The bump puts the premium Steam Deck within $100 of entry-level gaming laptops that can run AAA titles at higher settings.
For a thousand bucks, you're getting portability and SteamOS polish. You're not getting desktop-class framerates. If you already own the 512GB model, the extra storage isn't worth a $450 gap. If you're buying new and need the space, an SD card is $80.
