Nine minutes of Steam Frame user guide videos surfaced on Steam's CDN this week, according to GamesRadar+. The footage covers headset setup, controller pairing, and boundary configuration. The videos are unlisted but accessible through direct links, matching Valve's standard pre-launch asset staging.

Steam Frame leaked specs last month pointed to a standalone/PC hybrid design with inside-out tracking and controllers similar to the Index. No pricing or release date has been confirmed. The user guide dump is the clearest sign Valve is prepping a launch soon, probably within the next quarter.

This matters if you've been waiting for a Index successor. The Index is four years old now and lacks standalone mode, which limits portability compared to the Quest 3. If Steam Frame ships with wireless PC streaming and competitive pricing under $600, it could be the first serious Valve hardware worth upgrading to since the Steam Deck.
