Xbox Game Pass adds Ninja Gaiden 4 and Black Ops 6 before November service split

Xbox dropped its second September Game Pass wave today with Ninja Gaiden 4, Dune: Awakening, Black Ops 6, Minecraft Dungeons II, and a fifth unannounced title. All five launch day-one on both Standard and Ultimate tiers, according to Polygon.

Black Ops 6 is the standout for BetterFPS readers. It's the first mainline Call of Duty to hit Game Pass on launch day — a big shift from Activision's old playbook. Microsoft confirmed the game will remain on the service after November's tier split, though it'll move to Ultimate-only at that point.

Ninja Gaiden 4 marks the series' first new entry since 2012. Team Ninja and PlatinumGames co-developed it. Early previews suggest it's lighter on visual overhead than recent Nioh entries, so mid-range rigs should handle it fine.

This is the last stacked lineup before Game Pass Standard loses day-one access in November. After that, Standard subscribers wait 12 months for new first-party releases. Ultimate keeps day-one drops but jumps to $19.99/month. If you're on Standard and care about launch-day games, you have two months to decide whether the Ultimate bump is worth it.
