Samsung launches first 6K gaming monitor and new Odyssey OLED lineup
First 6K gaming panel announced, but specs and pricing still pending

Samsung announced its 2026 monitor lineup today, headlined by the industry's first 6K gaming monitor. The new Odyssey series also includes a 5K model and expanded OLED options with the Odyssey OLED G8 and G7, according to a press release from Samsung.
The 6K gaming panel is the headline here — no other manufacturer has shipped a gaming display at that resolution. Samsung hasn't published refresh rate or panel type yet, which matters more than pixel count for competitive play. The 5K model and two new OLED variants (G8 and G7) aim to bring higher-res OLED tech to more price tiers. The announcement also covered ViewFinity professional displays and The Movingstyle Essential series, neither of which target gamers.
This is Samsung flexing on resolution specs. Whether 6K gaming makes sense depends entirely on what GPU you're running and whether the panel can actually hit 144Hz or higher. A 6K display at 60Hz is a productivity monitor wearing gamer clothes. The OLED additions are more interesting if Samsung priced them under the current G9 flagship, which sits north of $1,300.
Pricing and availability come later. If you're shopping for a high-refresh 1440p or 4K panel now, check BetterFPS's top monitor picks for current-gen options that actually ship.
